Combined Events are a prescribed set of track & field events contested is a specific order. Competing athletes earn points for their performance in each event, culminating in a total score at the end of competition. The highest total score wins the event. Because the competition consist of multiple track & field events, the Combined Events is colloquially referred to a Multis (a portmanteau of multiple events).
USATF Combined Events competitions are governed by Rule 200. Indoor Combined events governed by Rule 223, Rule 7.3 and Rule 13.5 define scoring of teams, Rule 302.2 applies to Youth, while Rule 332.2 applies to Masters.
RULE 302 – REGULATIONS AND SPECIFICATIONS

(b) Rule 200 shall be followed unless otherwise provided herein.
(c) Boys hurdle races shorter than 110 meters are scored from the men’s 110 Meter Hurdles tables. Girls hurdle races shorter than 100 meters are scored from the women’s 100 Meter Hurdles tables. Times for the 11-12 Boys’ 80 Meter Hurdles shall be multiplied by 1.13 prior to entering the tables; for the 11-12 Girls’ 80 Meter Hurdles, multiply by 1.07.
RULE 200 – COMBINED EVENTS

(a) In the Long Jump, Shot Put, Discus Throw, and Javelin Throw, each competitor shall be allowed three trials only.
